My Silk Screen

My silk screen image consisted of four different pictures using some of the same colours in different positions. The reason why I didn't use the exact same 5 colours from the first image (pink, green, yellow, blue, and red) was because I wanted to show a variety of different colours for a unique look.

I chose the this image from when I was four because I aimed for a picture with multiple aspects to colour; such as the sunglasses, dress, and lips. I followed the eight steps as instructed. After completing my first image, I decided that swapping the same five colours to different locations would be somewhat boring. That's when my final idea bloomed; to use different yet similar colours to the original image.

Some of the problems I encountered was troubles selecting every single desired pixel to be coloured. This took time but the final result was worth it. Also, the fact that some of the images share the same article colour frustrates me because I could've spent a little more time to find more unique colours (for example, two of the images have almost identical coloured dress').

I am very pleased with my creation. If I were to do another digital silk screen, I would create it using the same colours in different locations, instead of using entirely new colours.

  1. Erin, thank you for explaining why you changed the colour requirements. I agree, you choices work well, and I can see a difference in the two greens. The is a very cute picture and I agree that the time spent going pixel by pixel was worth it. I would have been happier with a more recent version of your face...you're still cute:)
Your write up is fine, but I'd like you to make a focused effort to use art vocabulary. Point out the analogous colours or complimentary colours. Talk about balance or focal points. Explain that these are hot colours, even the blue because of it's intensity and the adjacent colours. You can do this.
