Q. A brief introduction of yourself. What does the world need to know about you as an artist? What do you want to get out of this course?
A. I've always been interested in art, whether it be drama, painting, music, dancing, drawing, and digital editing. I love photographing and own two cameras; an average digital Sony camera and a Nikon D5000 SLR camera. I plan on taking a lot from this course and because I am familiar with several different editing software's, this course will be fairly simple for me.
Q. What was your opinion of the digital artwork of Josh Sommers?
A. I think Josh's artwork is very interesting. He is a very talented artist and I would be greatful to learn some of his digital artwork editing skills.
Q. Please read the Studio Rules under "Class Documents" below. Comment on these requirements and indicate whether you are able to comply.
A. I am surely able to comply the requirements. I have worked with all the assigned software (Photoshop, Audacity, Macomedia Flash, and Windows Movie Maker). If there is a dilemma with the limited number of digital cameras, I will not hesitate to bring in one of my own. However, I have one problem with the Studio Rules. I personally believe that visiting Facebook every so often within class time should no longer be a problem, for it allows me to seek creative guidance from my fellow friends which truly opens my imagination to its full potential.
Q. Finally, what is your reaction to the following quote. "No great artist ever sees things as they really are. If he did, he would cease to be an artist." Oscar Wilde (author)
A. My reaction to this quote is understanding that every artist must have a great sense of imagination. Art is something that is eye catching and consists of unfamiliar visual aspects. An artist must have an open mind to all things and see irregular sides and meanings to everyday sights.
